Program Coordinator, Community Engagement

Reports To: Director of Intergenerational Programs
Status: 35 hours per week

General Summary

The Program Coordinator will serve an essential role to the Programs Department as 2Life builds a cross-campus community engagement program. Working with the Intergenerational Program, the Volunteer Program, Village Centers, and Resident and Group Services coordinators at all 2Life locations, the Program Coordinator will facilitate and support the organization and administration of community engagement activities across all 2Life campuses. The Program Coordinator will be based in the main office at the Brighton Campus but will travel frequently between all 2Life sites.

Essential Job Functions

  • Support administrative duties and programming for Intergenerational Programs, Village Centers and Volunteer Services across all 2Life campuses

  • Support new database integration for programs, track attendance, collect and enter data, assist with program evaluation, and help streamline systems

  • Assist program directors/manager and staff to administer intergenerational programs, host service projects and support Village Center events

  • Work closely with Resident and Group Services coordinators to ensure coordination and smooth transition of information, calendar of events, and program scheduling

  • Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

  • Normal office environment

  • A personal vehicle is not required but the employee will be expected to travel regularly between all 2Life sites.


  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Minimum of 2 years of program coordination or similar professional experience

  • Ability to be patient and polite, while working with older adult residents, volunteers and community partners.

  • Exceptionally detail-oriented, organized and highly productive

  • Ability to communicate effectively, take initiative, multi-task, and be flexible in managing the daily demands of a multi-faceted role

  • Capable of quickly learning and developing proficiency with database software used to track program activities

  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel, with aptitude for numbers and data entry

  • Must be a creative thinker and problem solver and be willing to work as an integral team member in a collaborative manner

  • Able to work a flexible schedule that includes evening and weekend hours, as program events require

  • Willingness to travel between campuses as required (must have sufficient transportation to travel as needed between all four campuses
