Better Buildings Challenge—an initiative of the U.S. Department of Energy tasked with driving leadership in energy innovation—recognized JCHE for being the first multifamily partner to reach its Challenge goal!
We reached 24 percent savings across a portfolio of eight buildings and 926,000 square feet in only six years, exceeding our goal of 20 percent.
The recognition is a testament to JCHE's leadership in sustainable energy innovation within the multifamily housing sector.
Last December, in our quest to be good stewards of the environment and responsible members of our community, JCHE agreed to purchase 20 percent of our electricity from a solar rooftop (pictured above) located in Woburn, MA, through a Virtual Net Metering Contract with a local solar developer.
In addition to the environmental benefits realized from using a clean energy source, we will also save TENS OF THOUSANDS of dollars annually—savings that we can reinvest in our mission to provide superior housing and unmatched support services for our seniors!
