Volunteer at 2Life Communities!
Volunteers are critical to helping us combat senior loneliness and facilitate connection in our communities. 2Life Communities continues to open our doors, hearts, and minds to everyone and we remain committed to making our spaces village centers.
We are excited to have many opportunities available to engage with our residents. Check out all the volunteer openings below. We are also always looking for Friendly Visitors, class teachers and club hosts. To inquire about volunteering, email Kate White at email@example.com.
Ongoing Individual Volunteer Opportunities
Front Desk Greeters: Our Brighton Campus, Golda Meir House, and Coleman House are looking for more Front Desk Greeters or “First Impression Ambassadors.” Greeters welcome residents and guests, answer questions and help with packages. There are open shifts throughout the week in the mornings and afternoons.
Package Delivery: Holiday season also means increased package deliveries at our Brighton Campus. To manage all the deliveries, we need volunteers to deliver to our residents’ apartments. Volunteers will pick up packages at the front desk and deliver around the campus. It is a great way to get to know the residents and help with a much-needed task. Shifts from Monday through Friday from 3 p.m.-5 p.m.
Brighton Tech Support Club: Our Brighton Campus has started a Multilingual Tech Support Club on Fridays from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. Sign up to help residents with their questions about their smartphones, tablets, and personal computers.
Food Pick Up Support at Coleman House: We are very grateful that Panera and the Newton Veterans Post donate food to our Coleman House in Newton. We need volunteers to help with pickups and drop-offs to transport the food to Coleman House. Sign up to pick up and drop off the food donation at 9 a.m. every third Friday at the Newton Veterans Post at 295 California Street, Newton or on Mondays at 8 a.m. every other week from Panera at 120 Highland Ave, Needham. Volunteers must have cars.
Cycling Without Age Pilots: Originally founded in Denmark, Cycling Without Age is committed to helping seniors enjoy the “right to wind in your hair.” Volunteer Pilots use specially designed bikes to transport seniors and explore nature in style and comfort. The bikes also help foster intergenerational connections and combat the stigma around aging. Pilots take residents out on rides around Chestnut Hill Reservoir and around Brighton. Create a schedule that works for you and our residents.
