On Sunday morning, May 23rd, at 11AM, 2Life Communities had a free virtual event featuring a special, free concert with Steven Skybell and Zalmen Mlotek from Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish. The program was open to all 2Life supporters, our surrounding community, and anyone interested in learning more. Listen to some amazing music, learn more about Fiddler on the Roof and discover the wonderful work of 2Life Communities.
The event also featured more about the fascinating history of Fiddler on the Roof with Tufts' Professor Barbara Wallace Grossman. And we explored some of the powerful themes and how they resonate with our residents. We've had over 600 views of the event and we raised $300,000 through sponsorships and donations. Thank you to all our donors and participants!
Today, the fastest growing segment of the U.S. population is 65 and over. Because of high housing costs, Massachusetts ranks LAST of all 50 states in terms of elder economic security. More than 3,300 households are on our waiting lists for a home at 2Life. Help us continue to do this critical work.
All proceeds from this event provide vital funding to the programs and services that make Aging in Community a reality at 2Life.
We depend on the money raised at this event to ensure that we can continue to meet the changing needs of our community.
